Overview

14 days Langtang Helambu trek is one of the longest trekking routes in the famous Langtang region and is the most adventurous one as it combines three popular areas: Langtang village, Gosaikunda Lake and Helambu. The trekking trail combines Buddhist culture of Tibetan, Tamang and Sherpa people with pristine forests, lakes, glaciers and peaks.

Located in northern part of Kathmandu, Langtang-Helambu trek takes you to the vicinity of Langtang Himalayan ranges. The trekking trail passes through Langtang National Park thus offers you the opportunity to explore wildlife of the region. The park is well known as the habitat of Red panda, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Bear, Boar etc.

Langtang village was destroyed in 2015 earthquake along with Kyanjin Gompa one of the most popular Himalayan monasteries. Langtang village has been reconstructed and is welcoming tourists again. You will be able to observe the peaks of Langtang Lirung, Changbu, Langtang Yubra and Langtang Lirung Glacier from this spot. Another highlight of this trek is the exploration of Gosainkunda, a holy lake situated at an altitude of 4300m. It is believed that there are 108 lakes in the area.

On your last leg of the trek you will pass through Sherpa villages of Helambu. Helambu is very famous for its natural beauty and wonderful climate with the superb views of the magnificent snow-capped mountains and rhododendron forests.
