Overview

Gokyo Valley trek is one of the most beautiful trekking routes in Nepal, which offers a dramatic view of Eastern Himalaya and Mount Everest from Gokyo Ri (5483m).

The Gokyo Valley Trek offers the breathtaking view of the most popular peaks of Nepal such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. One of the most remarkable features of the Gokyo Valley trek is the view of tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu region. There are small lodges along the route and is usually less crowded than the traditional trek routes to Everest base camp. From Gokyo Ri more of Everest itself is visible, though from a slight greater distance than from Kala Patthar above Gorak Shep.

The view from Gokyo is exceptionally beautiful and offers more of the legendary mountain than from the view of Kala Patthar. Along the trek we will pass Buddhist monasteries with the view of Everest and other snow towering mountains. We will have rest days in the villages of Namche Bazaar that will allow us to explore the region and acclimatize. After trekking to Gokyo Ri (5483 meters), we return at a leisurely pace back to Namche Bazaar and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu.
